As he was inducted into a Pan Essien Udim group on Sunday, Honourable Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Prince Ukpong Akpabio in his induction speech said that it is not time to rest on one’s oars until Essien Udim youths are empowered, but added that empowerment was beyond sharing money.

“The future for Essien Udim Youths begin today and we have to start empowering the youths now”.
” Empowerment is not just money, sharing knowledge is empowerment too. So, don’t just share money, show people how you made the money. Teach people what you know. Whereas giving money is the icing of the cake, teaching people the way to successful living is the actual foundation of empowerment, Akpabio said.

The group called Essien Udim Youths for Greater Tomorrow led by it’s national president, Comrade Peter Udoka convened at the country home of the Trade and Investment ministry helmsman for his induction into the group. Comrade Udoka said with Akpabio as a member of Essien Udim Youths for Greater Tomorrow, all members have the obligation to support his course and dreams.
Presentation of Certificate of induction was done by the leadership of the group, in the witness of a large number of the members drawn from many parts of Nigeria. Members are all indigenes of Essien Udim including those who live outside the shores of the local government.

The latest member of the Pan Essien Udim group vowed to be loyal to the group, especially in partnership towards shaping the future of the youths of Essien Udim.
“I promise to be a very loyal member. I first fell in love with this group because of it’s motto which says ‘sharpen the future we picture ‘. That motto aligns with my dreams. Being inducted as a member of Essien Udim Youths for Greater Tomorrow is a dream come true. Together, we will drive this dream. Together, we will sharpen the future of we picture “, Akpabio concluded.

The induction ceremony was part of activities to mark the 45th birthday of Prince Ukpong Akpabio. Other activities to commemorate the 2021 birthday included sponsoring 70 Youths for Solar Engineering Training, Free medical outreach to Essien Udim indigenes and the commissioning of a water project at Idung Esimuk village.
